I am on the road (again).
I leave you with the photo above, and I would love to know what stories it tells you.
What story does this steaming wasteland tell you? Let me know in the comments, or on your own blog.
When I get home, I’ll tell mine.

I’m not sure about the stories it tells, but your photo choice brings back memories of my trips to India. Great memories of a country with so much character, life, and passion.
Thank you, Zoe……………:)

I thought at first it was a Holocaust-like picture, so I fully expected to see bodies strewn about. When I realized what it was, I still couldn’t shake the image of those same imagined bodies rising up, clawing through the garbage, and looking for flesh to feast upon.
I think perhaps I’ve been reading too much about zombies of late.

makes me think of children sorting through that waste trying to eek out an existance…makes me grateful that mine dont have to.
I wrote a response post… doesn’t look like the trackback came through. It should show up in the commentluuuurv.
Ryan´s last blog post..Response: Zoë’s photo prompt
At one time, I would probably have more poetic reflections about such a wasteland or a minimum, commentary on rampant waste, greed, consumption. But, I worked as the PR person for the City Utilities in OKC, which included solid and bulk waste (fancy words for TRASH), and now all I can think of is the unforgettable stench of landfills – how we’re using up all our landfill space – and how every time I throw a disposable diaper away – i cringe and feel like a loser. I think of loads that caught on fire (not kidding) when I worked for utilities – trash all souping together and exploding in the back of collection trucks. Like I said – i don’t think I have any prose to offer – just the reality of working in the industry and people griping about what a pain in the neck recycling was/is. I certainly don’t recycle enough, but try…Now, I’ll go read Ryan’s entry. Maybe he’ll inspire me. Traveling mercies…

I decided to do a story-start on WikidStory based on this photo prompt Zoe. Tried to track back, but no luck. Anywho, thanks for the inspiration. Cheers.
Jeb Dickerson´s last blog post..Dashback
Seeing the houses right at the edge of the garbage dump, with probably people living there, children being raised there, makes me sad. This is a hard world we are living in and man and science and knowledge and technology certainly did not make it any kinder.
Detlef Cordes´s last blog post..Hamburg – Faces of a City
I wish it was a scene from a futuristic moralistic doom and gloom movie. But it’s not, is it. How sad.
i love coming back here and reading comments. this one from urban panther is just so funny. blogging can be so serious, huh? now, i have to go find out who UP is.
I love the directions you’ve all taken!
Now it’s my turn to contribute… in the mean time, I really hope you’ll all check out the stories that Ryan, Jeb and Detlef wrote
@jenx67 – LOL so, you hop over to my site, and what do you find? A rant sparked by menstrual cups and women being afraid to touch themselves. Welcome to the Urban Panther’s Lair! *grin*
@ Urban Panther – Keep us guessing
