Root for the Underdog: Everybody’s Doing It

How often do you hear it: “Wow, do you remember life before the internet? What did we do before Google?”

The internet certainly does give us unprecedented access to information, whether you’re wondering how to write a documentary script or how to clean your toilet with vinegar. Problem is, there’s so much crap out there that it sometimes feels exhausting to wade through and find the good stuff.

Chuck Westbrook has come up with a simple solution for great content with no exposure. He is assembling a group of people interested in discovering new blogs with worthwhile content. Every two weeks, everyone in that group will follow a new blog. That lucky blog gets new traffic, new comments — big exposure (there are already 326 people in the group). The readers get to discover interesting new articles and communities. Doesn’t get more win-win than that.

I think I’m going to have a lot of fun with this – and congratulations on being the opening act! This is exactly what I hoped to get out of Chuck’s little project; discovering interesting Blogs that I otherwise never would have found.

I’m so excited about this new venture for the blogging community that Chuck has set up. And I’m doubly excited for you being the first out of the gate to get exposure.

Also, is that your black lab in the picture? If not, no matter, I have a one-year old black lab who looked just like that when he was a puppy. His name is Samson. (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2277/2175397504_8027b31be3.jpg)

Love the “underdog”!! This puppy looks like he doesn’t mind staying underneath the main event. Speaking of main events, I’m looking forward to reading more of your blog over the next two weeks! And ironically, I have a student (4th grade) who is fairly new to the USA from Thailand.
